Civil Partnerships And Their Dissolution
Since December 2005 the courts have had almost identical powers to redistribute property when a Civil Partnership is disolved by the Court as they do in relation to divorcing spouses (see Marriage, Divorce and Property Redistribution). It is necessary to instruct a matrimonial lawyer who is sensitive to and understands the particular circumstances encountered by same sex families.
We are also able to fixed fee advice upon pre-nuptial agreements so that those entering a Civil Partnership can have some control over how their assets are divided up if things do not work out.
