We offer 2 services (most firms offer option No. 1 only):

1. Full Representation Service- We act for you
2. Advice and Assistance Service (Family Law Direct). You act for yourself, but we are there to provide you with help and assistance, when you want it. If you opt for this service you will be known as a "litigant in person" but we will only be a phone call away.

We offer 2 payment methods (Few firms currently offer option No. 1):

1. Fixed fees - these are fixed quotes that cannot go up, no matter how long your case takes to resolve.
2. Hourly billing - we charge you for the work by the hour. Our fees are highly competitive and there is a lower hourly rate for those earning less than £40,000 per annum gross.

Call most law firms and you'll be given an unthinkable hourly rate and told that it's impossible to estimate your final bill accurately before they begin. Yet as the hours of work accumulate, the expense of even relatively straightforward contested property proceedings can amount to between £15,000 and £40,000 by the time the case reaches trial.

Can you afford that risk? Or the added stress at a difficult time? At Crallans we don't think you should have to. That's why, uniquely, we'll generally agree to represent our clients for a fixed fee, even if the case is likely to be resolved in court.

If you choose this option, we won't cut corners or fob you off with a paralegal assistant or legal executive - in fact, you'll always get to speak to your solicitor directly. We just think it's fair to give you the security of knowing that your costs won't spiral out of control. And meanwhile, it motivates us to work as effectively and efficiently as possible to achieve the best possible results for you in the shortest possible time, rather than allowing the process to drag on. In short, it works well for everyone concerned.
